A fair question
Why does a volunteer group need a fee?
We're still entirely voluntary — but a small membership fee lets us cover essentials like the insurance we need to hire meeting rooms and take part in events such as Picnic in the Park and Bike Week.
It also keeps us an independent local organisation, which means we can apply for funding — like Kildare County Council community grants — that national bodies can't.

You're very welcome to join simply as a member — but if you'd like to do more, there's plenty to get stuck into:
- Writing stories for the newsletter
- Using digital and social media to publicise our views
- Contributing to submissions on Kildare County Council consultations
- Commenting on planning applications
- Helping at events such as Bike Week and Picnic in the Park
- Volunteering as a pilot on our Cycling Without Age trishaw
